Hello internet! Meet my cat Megatron.

Let me introduce you to her.

Megatron

She turns 2 on 1st July!

We adopted her on 11th September 2024. At the time we got her, my partner and I were living with my college friend and his dog Mighty. I got Megu thinking she was a male cat, and "his" balls would drop soon(I didn't know how cats work :P) and we couldn't have been more wrong!

With a Mighty already sniffing around, ofcourse we liked the name Megatron, and after a lot of debates, the little "guy" was named. Also, we can all agree Mighty and Megatron has a nice ring to it. Or atleast sounds better than Mighty and Asteriod Destroyer.

Cut to around megu's half birthday, while still waiting for his "balls" to magically appear, one of my friends - also a cat mom, visited her. Long story short, turns out "he" is a she.

We got ourselves a female cat, and named her Megatron. But her fate was sealed, the name stuck with her and us. Also, I think being a girl dad suits me better.

More about megu:

Megu is a sweet, quiet, stoic cat. She loves treats, and throws a lot of tantrums. She rarely makes a noise. It's a special occassion when we hear her meow. She's patient with hugs and she's kind to strangers. She is also the most beautiful cat and the biggest diva I have ever come across, but I might have a bias ;)

She's shy. Very shy. Infact, she doesn't want to be seen being petted by one parent if both of us are in vicinity. When we are alone, she accepts a lot of love, and loves us back, but when someone else is in the room, she pretends we don't exist. As if saying "you peasants are beneath me". But waits at the door for us when we are out. Can't even stay in her room alone when I'm in the hall. She has her own way of loving us. We won't have it any other way!

She loves food, but she's a picky eater. Our journey as her parents has been mostly about navigating what she likes and dislikes. She prefers a certain type of texture, and she gets bored very easily.

She likes going out. I take her out on small walks around our building. Oh how much she loves to explore the world around her! She's never met a box or a bag that didn't need a close, detective-grade inspection.

She loves to play with everything under the sun except the toy I got for her. Cling wrap >>> A little bird toy. A ribbon >>> a rotating ball. Chopsticks are her one true love! Also, that girl has no survival instints and dives head-first into every chopping or cutting activity in her vicinity.

Nothing about her makes sense, and at the same time, it just does. We all think our child understands us, perhaps that's why we can sense her joy and her dissapointment, or we are certain her slow blinks or a little gaze at us mean I love you too. Perhaps it's me being a first time cat dad. Still, I love her to bits. (Not to be dramatic, but I would die for her.)

Alright, enough with the words. Time for some cat tax!
